Our Community of Volunteers

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. They are often the first friendly face our guests see, welcoming visitors from all over the world and helping create an unforgettable experience.  If you love meeting new people, sharing your passion for space, and making a difference, volunteering at the rocket Center is a rewarding way to give back.

What Volunteers do:

As a community volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in many areas of guest engagement, including:

•    Greet Guests: Welcome visitors to the museum and provide a warm, inviting atmosphere.
•    Wayfinding & Assistance: Direct guests to the ticket desk, guide them through the Davidson Center, and help them navigate the park.
•    Answer Questions: Share general information about the Rocket Center and assist with inquiries about local attractions, restaurants, and more, acting as a concierge for our guests.
•    Host in Galaxy Grill: Ensure guests feel at home while dining by greeting and assisting them.
•    Enhancing the Guest Experience: Volunteers make every visit special by offering knowledge, guidance, and hospitality.
With over 100 dedicated volunteers, our team is essential to the success of the Rocket Center. Whether you’re passionate about space exploration, enjoy meeting new people, or want to give back to your community, volunteering here is a rewarding way to make a difference.

When You’ll Work:

Volunteers typically work 2-4 hour shifts one or more days a week with a yearly requirement of 72 hours per year to remain active.
