The Science of Skylab

Join us in the Discovery Theater on Sunday, June 18, at 2 p.m. to learn about America’s first laboratory in space, and how Skylab crews conducted hundreds of experiments. Skylab was also a solar observatory that captured almost a quarter million images of the Sun. And Skylab was NASA’s first educational outreach program that sought student proposals for experiments to conduct. This discussion will focus on the range of experiments and activities carried out on Skylab, the goals and objectives for these experiments, and how NASA engaged students across the country to take part in its scientific mission.
