The U.S. Space & Rocket Center has had a tremendous response from customers wishing to purchase the limited supply of eclipse glasses we had in stock. We are now sold out and don’t anticipate having any more glasses for sale.

If you have pre-purchased a ticket to the sold-out All American Eclipse event that includes a barbecue lunch Monday, Aug. 21, you will receive a pair of glasses when you arrive for the event. The Rocket Center is also offering a discounted general admission price of $15 for Aug. 21, and the first 1,000 guests will receive a pair of eclipse glasses.

Please remember to protect your eyes when viewing the solar eclipse.

The G-Force Accelerator is not available due to scheduled maintenance.

All American Eclipse

8/21/17 - 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Join us at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for a once-in-a-lifetime eclipse experience! On August 21, 2017, the moon will move between the sun and earth, creating a coast-to-coast total solar eclipse, the first to be visible in the United States since 1918.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is hosting a special event to mark the remarkable occasion. The north Alabama area will experience 97% totality, where the moon covers 97% of the sun’s disk.

This special event is $15 per person and includes admission to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, a barbecue lunch plate, eclipse viewing glasses and a special performance by The Huntsville Community Band. The pre-purchase ticket that included the barbecue and glasses is sold out. The Rocket Center is also offering a discounted walkin general admission price of $15 for Aug. 21, and the first 1,000 guests will receive a pair of eclipse glasses.

Hands-on activities begin at 10 a.m., and include a workshop on building a tubular solar eclipse viewer, a make-and-take solar bead bracelet and a solar art project. The University of Alabama in Huntsville Space Hardware Club will be launching a weather balloon to measure atmospheric changes during the eclipse, and the Rocket Center is live-streaming NASA’s coverage of the eclipse on the big screen in the National Geographic Theater in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration.

SOLD OUT!

Groups can take advantage of the usual group rate of $13 per person. This will include the viewing glasses, and a box lunch can be added at the regular price of $7.50 per person. For group bookings, please email us at museumgroups@spacecamp.com.
