45th Anniversary of Apollo 17 Celebration

On Dec. 7, at 5:30 p.m., in the Saturn V Hall, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center will celebrate the 45th anniversary of Apollo 17 with a reception and dinner featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Harrison Schmitt, moonwalker, geologist, former U.S. Senator and author who will share memories of being NASA’s first scientist astronaut and member of the last Apollo crew. A limited number of tickets are available for this premier event. Tickets for the event are $145 per person. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

Prior to the evening festivities, Dr. Schmitt will host a book signing event from 3 – 3:45 p.m. for his new book, ““Return to the Moon: Exploration, Enterprise, and Energy in the Human Settlement of Space.” Books will be available for purchase at the signing. There is a limit of one signed book per guest, and guest must be present.

Following the book signing, enjoy a “Pass the Torch” event at 4 p.m. where Dr. Schmitt will discuss his book. “Pass the Torch” is free and open to the public. Seating for “Pass the Torch” is limited, so click here to reserve your space.
