Icy Orbs: Deep Space Europa Mission

Take a break from the summer heat with a mission to Jupiter’s icy moon Europa! Together launch aboard the classroom spaceship and land on the icy moon! Explore the largest moons of the planet Jupiter and each moon's unique planetary geology. Drill deep and explore the possible ocean beneath the icy surface and potentially discover signs of life!

Join us on the second Saturday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for the Saturday Scientist series, an educational series featuring activities recommended for ages 6-9.

This monthly hands-on activity is included with museum membership or paid admission and emphasizes the development of “STEAM” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). This series includes exciting topics like solar energy, precipitation, geology of space and chemistry.

All workshops are aligned to Next Generation Science (NGSS), Common Core Math (CCM), and Alabama College and Career Readiness Standards (ALCCRS).

Reserve your seat at the main ticket desk upon your arrival.

Museum members may enter the Davidson Center for Space Exploration.
