Originally built by NASA as a test article, Pathfinder has been an iconic symbol of the U.S. Space and Rocker Center, particularly Space Camp. In 2020, the Center received a $500,000 grant from the National Park Service to begin a full restoration. The original plywood and fiberglass outer shell was replaced with 516 durable 3D printed composite panels of carbon fiber and polyurethane foam created by American based company Branch Technology.
