The RL-10 family of engines is the oldest of the U.S. designed rocket engines still in use today. Developed in 1963 with the combined efforts of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and Pratt & Whitney, the engine has seen use on many modern launch vehicles like NASA’s SLS and ULA’s Vulcan Centaur.
