SpaceX’s Intravehicular Activity (IVA) space suit is a sleek, modern design that integrates the emergency needs of astronauts with a form factor like that of a superhero suit. While it is not designed to be used in the vacuum of space, it meets all of NASA’s safety requirements for an IVA suit.
The SpaceX suit offers a new vision for space suit design. The use of 3D printing, such as those used in the helmet’s construction, can increase customization and make tailoring for astronauts easier.
