The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is proud to host the Alabama Aerospace Fellowship College Students (ages 19 and up) in partnership with the Alabama Aerospace and Defense Council. Offered through the Rocket Center’s Space Camp Institute, this program focuses on workforce and professional development for students preparing for careers in Alabama’s growing aerospace industry.
This valuable initiative builds on an internship program envisioned by Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth in collaboration with Lockheed Martin. Thanks to the generous support of corporate partners and the State of Alabama, there is no cost to attend this residential program.
Fellows will receive in-person access to industry professionals and behind-the-scenes tours of aerospace operations at Lockheed Martin, Blue Origin, and NASA, gaining firsthand insight into how engineering and production come together to drive aerospace innovation. Participants will also take part in industry panels featuring leaders in aerospace exploration, discussing topics such as:
- The current commercial/civil growth of space technologies
- The business of space exploration
- How to find and secure internships in a growing, competitive field
AI’s growing role in aerospace.
Additionally, Fellows will strengthen their personal branding and professional communication skills through training with the Space Camp Institute.
