Mitsubishi Aircraft Announces Space Camp Raffle Winner

Released
Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation America announced that Moses Lake ninth graders Judah Vrieling and Celeste Todd won a raffle to attend the week-long Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, this summer. Mitsubishi will cover the students’ airfare, transportation and camp expenses for August 6 to 11. This raffle was held in conjunction with the company’s May 16 Reach for the Stars with Stem event for Washington’s Moses Lake High School ninth graders. Vrieling and Todd will attend Space Camp’s Advanced Space Academy, which features an immersive experience in science, technology, engineering and math (Stem). The students will take part in astronaut training exercises as well as engineering challenges and teambuilding activities that lead to an extended-duration simulated space mission. Ultimately, the goal of this experience is to help attendees explore college and career preparation. Mitsubishi Aircraft's Stem program, which comes from a partnership with Big Bend Community College and Moses Lake School District, will continue in the area for at least another 12 months.
