HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The U.S. Space & Rocket Center will hold a media preview of its latest traveling exhibit, “Above and Beyond,” Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. Representatives from the Rocket Center and exhibit presenter Boeing will be available for interviews about “Above and Beyond” and how it explores the technology of flight.

The exhibit opens to the public Saturday, Sept. 30, and is included in regular museum admission or museum membership.

“Above and Beyond” provides hands-on simulation and design activities related to real-life challenges in the aerospace industry. Guests will be able to learn how today’s airplanes and spacecraft are designed and built with methods such as 3D printing, creative wing shapes and lighter materials. The exhibit includes multiple immersive experiences, such as a simulated space elevator; the chance to design, build and compete in a supersonic fighter jet; and motion-sensing technology that gives users a feeling of what it’s like to fly like a bird.

Above and Beyond is presented by The Boeing Company and produced by Evergreen Exhibitions, in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum,
